Uttarakhand Signaller Purv Sainik Association (USPSA) is a formally organised veterans’ association established in 2026 with the objective of providing a common and dedicated platform for former Army Signallers of Uttarakhand. The Association seeks to promote unity, mutual cooperation, mutual respect, discipline and organisational coordination among its members, while encouraging continued participation in constructive social and welfare-oriented initiatives. Uttarakhand has a long and distinguished tradition of service in the Indian Armed Forces and is widely recognised for its strong military heritage. Former Signallers, having served in a specialised branch of the Armed Forces, share a common professional background, experiences and values. With the passage of time, the need for a dedicated platform to maintain these connections and provide an organised forum for interaction and cooperation became increasingly evident. The initiative for establishing such a platform was taken by Subedar Vinod Prakash Naithani (Retd.), who envisioned bringing former Signallers together through a structured and disciplined organisation. The initial initiative led to the formation of a working Executive Committee, followed by continuous efforts to reach out to fellow veterans, explain the objectives of the proposed organisation and encourage their participation. The establishment of USPSA has been a collective endeavour. Members and well-wishers contributed their time, experience, cooperation and resources towards developing the organisation. Considerable attention was given to establishing an appropriate organisational framework, including the preparation of the Constitution and Bylaws, formation of the Executive Committee, conduct of meetings, office arrangements and completion of necessary administrative formalities. A significant milestone in this journey was the successful completion of the Association's Society Registration on 06 August 2026. This provided the organisation with a formal institutional framework within which its objectives, membership, administration, financial procedures, responsibilities and organisational activities could be conducted in an orderly manner. Following its formal establishment, the Association continued developing its administrative and communication infrastructure. This included establishing appropriate banking arrangements and digital communication channels, creating an official online presence and reaching out to former Signallers through various communication platforms. These efforts are intended to make the organisation more accessible and to strengthen communication and coordination among its members.
